Yesterday morning I made a shadow box, about a foot square,
from pieces of scrap wood I had lying around, and painted it with black gesso.
Later I picked up some scrap pieces at Fairfax Lumber with paint remnants on
them. Today, I did some selecting and trimming and came up with the first wood
assemblage of what I hope will become a series:
